This Privacy Policy explains how Hikurado Team ("Hikurado Team", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Hikurado mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App" or "Services"). If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Services.

2) Age requirement (17+)

The Services are intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a minor under 17 has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

3) Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information collected with your permission (such as location).

3.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: name, username, email address.
  • Customer support content: information you send us when you contact support (messages, attachments, troubleshooting details).
  • Ride details you enter: ride notes, start/end points you choose to save, and other ride-related fields you choose to add.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information: device model, operating system version, language, app version, identifiers needed for app functionality, and similar technical data.
  • Usage data: interactions with the App, feature usage, performance data, and in-app events.
  • Crash logs: diagnostic data to identify and fix errors.

3.3 Location information (only with your permission)

If you grant location permission, we may collect and use location data to support ride recording and related features. Depending on your device settings, this may include precise or approximate location. You can disable location permissions in your device settings at any time.

3.4 Cookies and similar technologies

If any part of the Services uses web-based components (such as an embedded web view), we may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies (which may include web beacons) to support login sessions and preferences. You can typically control cookies through your device or browser settings; however, some features may not function properly without them.

3.5 Photos and face-related data (if you choose to use such features)

If you choose to upload or capture images within the App (for example, to generate content from an image), we process those images only to provide the requested feature.

  • We do not perform facial recognition.
  • We do not create or store biometric identifiers or biometric templates.
  • By default, generated results are stored locally on your device unless you choose otherwise.
  • Any server-side processing for these images is intended to be one-time and the related content is deleted after processing as described in Section 7.
  • We do not use images for advertising/marketing purposes and do not use your images to train models.

4) How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and maintain the Services (including creating and managing accounts and syncing data you request).
  • Record rides and display ride history (such as start/end points, distance, duration, and weather conditions where available).
  • Personalize the experience (for example, saving your preferences and showing relevant insights).
  • Improve the Services (including debugging, quality assurance, analytics, and performance optimization).
  • Keep the Services secure (fraud prevention, abuse detection, access control, and monitoring).
  • Communicate with you (service messages, support responses, and important updates).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

We do not sell your personal information.

Depending on your jurisdiction, we process personal information based on one or more of the following: performance of a contract (to provide the Services), legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Services), consent (for optional features like location and certain uploads), and compliance with legal obligations.

6) Sharing of information

We share information only as described below and only to the minimum extent necessary:

  • With your consent: when you choose to share or authorize a specific disclosure.

  • To protect rights and safety: to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected illegal activities, fraud, security issues, or violations of our policies, and to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, and Hikurado Team.

7) AI / generation features (optional)

Some features may offer AI-assisted generation or analysis (for example, generating summaries, insights, or other content from text you provide or images you choose to upload).

  • User control: you decide whether to use these features and whether to upload text or images for processing.
  • Processing location: any text or images you upload for these AI/generation features are processed on our own servers.
  • No third-party sharing: we do not share these uploaded text/images with any third party for AI processing.
  • No training/marketing use: we do not use your uploaded text/images to train models or for marketing.
  • Deletion after processing: once processing is completed, we delete the uploaded content from our servers as soon as reasonably practicable. If a processing failure occurs, transient logs may persist for a short time for debugging and then are deleted.

8) International data transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

9) Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including (as appropriate):

  • Encryption in transit and at rest
  • Access controls and least-privilege practices
  • Monitoring and incident response processes
  • Regular reviews/audits and backups

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You use the Services at your own risk.

10) Data retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:

  • Account data: retained for the duration of your account.
  • If you delete your account: we delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.
  • Usage analytics: retained for up to 12 months.
  • Customer support content: retained for up to 6 months.

To the extent permitted by law, disputes arising out of or relating to this Privacy Policy will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of Hikurado Team's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and resolved through binding arbitration as described in our terms or as otherwise required by applicable law.
